Lenten Evening Prayer 2021 ENGLISH version - Book - Page 34
Gracious and loving God,
we pray that, with your help,
we may walk eagerly in that same path of love
that Jesus walked on earth, even to death.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son.
The priest/deacon goes to the altar, genuflects and kneels.
While a Christ-centred hymn is sung, the minister, while kneeling,
incenses the Blessed Sacrament in the monstrance.
He then rises and says:
Lord our God,
you have given us the true bread from heaven.
In the strength of this food
may we live always by your life
and rise in glory on the last day.
We ask this through Christ our Lord
After the prayer the minister puts on the humeral veil, genuflects, and
takes the monstrance. In silence he makes the Sign of the Cross over the
people with the monstrance.
The Blessed Sacrament is then taken from the monstrance and replaced in
the tabernacle, in silence.
The Lord be with you
All: And with your Spirit.
Go in the peace of Christ
All:Thanks be to God.
