Sprinkling with holy water
This sprinkling with blessed water reminds us of the saving waters of baptism.
It calls to mind Archbishop Philip’s own baptism and his initiation into the
community of faith.

In the waters of baptism Philip Edward
died with Christ and rose with Him to new
life. May he now share with Him eternal
glory.
Placing of the Baptismal Pall
The placing of the baptismal pall reminds us of our faith in the resurrection,
the joyful triumph over death, and is symbolic of Archbishop Philip’s baptismal
robe.

Archbishop:
In life, Archbishop Philip cherished the
Gospel of Christ. May Christ now greet him
