PICTORIAL
Bishops is special
because of the individuals
who embody its image, taking
pride in themselves and the
school and truly making the most
of their opportunities. I would
love to see Bishops in the future
become a place for change,
innovation and leadership.

By 2049,
Bishops will be

By 2049 I think
Bishops will be

I hope in the future
Bishops keeps the
traditions that make it
so special, especially the
feeling of camaraderie,
brotherhood, and family.

The school traditions give
a great sense of belonging.
By 2049, I hope there will
be less of a divide between
grades, with greater mutual
respect and inclusivity.
DIGITAL EDITION ONLY
This display, looking
to the future of Bishops,
is one of a number
that make up the first
iteration of the 175
Museum Project in
the Mitre. Besides
similar engaging visual
installations that tell the
story of the school, the
museum now houses
Mark Shuttleworth’s
spacesuit from his 2002
trip to the International
Space Station, among
its many memorabilia.
Developed by Dijon
Design, a heritage,
museum and exhibition
design consultancy, in
close consulation with
OD Ambassador and
school archivist Paul
Murray, the 175 Museum
Project will evolve
organically in the
coming years. ODs
and Bishops family
members are
encouraged to visit.

The relationship between
boys and staff is very
different to other schools.
I think by 2049 Bishops
will be re-aligned with
contemporary South
African society, as an
agile institution.
Warren Wallace, Staff
I think by 2049
the hierarchy and
social systems will
be very different.
