WELLBEING
The relentless overload
that’s wearing us down
is generated by a belief
that ‘good’ work requires
increasing busyness –
faster responses to email
and chats, more meetings,
more tasks, more hours.
But when we look closer
at this premise, we fail
to find a firm foundation.
Cal Newport,
Slow Productivity
Negotiate in their world.
Persuasion is not about
how bright or smooth or
forceful you are. It’s about
the other party convincing
themselves that the
solution you want is their
own idea. So don’t beat
them with logic or brute
force. Ask them questions
that open paths to your
goals. It’s not about you.
Chris Voss and Tahl Raz,
Never Split the Difference
Communication is
not about talking, it’s
about understanding.
When we communicate,
we need to listen more
than we speak, and we
need to be open to new
perspectives and ideas.

Surrounded by Idiots
