TONY MULANIX (he/him) is a multi-disciplinary artist and lighting
designer based in New York City. He brings his sculptural, immersive lighting environments to the 昀椀elds of theater, dance, music, and multimedia installation. Tony has designed for national and international
venues, ensembles and institutes including: wild project, P.S. 122, St. Ann’s
Warehouse, Arcane Collective, La MaMa, Jean Cocteau Repertory,
Phoenix Theatre Ensemble, evidEnce Room, REDCAT, The Actors’ Gang,
Yerba Buena Center For The Arts, Boston Lyric Opera, Compagnia de’ Colombri, The
Guggenheim, Eyebeam, University Settlement, and Carnegie Mellon. He is extremely
excited and grateful to be collaborating with Phoenix Theatre Ensemble on this project.
RODNEY PEREZ is a Queens-based electrics stagehand and lighting
operator originally from California. After binging hours and hours of opera
streams during lockdown he decided to embark on a theatrical lighting
career.
ATTILIO RIGOTTI (he/him) (Resident Artist)
Attilio Rigotti is a Chilean performer, director, technology
artist, videogame designer and teacher. His work explores the intersection
between game design, interactive technologies, and live performance.
Attilio has performed, trained, taught, and developed productions around
the world. Along with Orsolya Szánthó, he founded the company GLITCH,
creating work that seamlessly combines digital and physical mediums
with new forms of storytelling. The company’s design has been featured
in collaborations with Kaki King, MIT Music & Theatre Arts, The Harvard School, The Juilliard
School, Kennedy Center and on the most recent Broadway production of Macbeth and
Off-Broadway production of White Girl in Danger, the latter of which earned him a Drama
Desk Nomination for Outstanding Projection Design. Attilio’s work as a director has been
featured at City Lyric Opera, Phoenix Theatre Ensemble, theatreC, LGPAC, NYU Tisch,
Toronto Fringe, and Gamiotics Studios, and has been recognized by The New York Times,
Vulture, and American Theatre Magazine. He was also a New York Theatre Workshop 2050
Artist Fellow for 2022-2023, and has twice been awarded the O-1 visa for extraordinary artistic achievement in the US, as well as the City Artists Corps Grant by the city of New York.
CRAIG SMITH*(he/him) (Resident Artist) was an ensemble member of
New York’s prestigious Jean Cocteau Repertory where he made his
artistic home for more than three decades, appearing in over 200
productions from Stoppard to Shakespeare and Sophocles to Williams.
Craig is a founding member of Phoenix Theatre Ensemble, an offBroadway award-winning artist-directed ensemble, presenting three to six
productions of new and classical works annually.
The Ensemble also produces an award-winning arts-in-education program for NYC public
schools, and a new-works program, as well as a variety of NYC community activities. The New
