The global pandemic temporarily eclipsed progressive design trends
and encouraged many to update their bathroom not only for health and
wellbeing, but also with a focus on hygiene.
We saw many people redirect funds into upgrading areas of their home
with luxury items after lockdowns. This has since given way to more
frugal and ethical purchases where quality as its best possible value is
researched endlessly.
Consequently, we’ve noticed some products and stylings have dropped
off the bathroom fashion radar, including the go-to Subway tile finish,
Granite, Terrazzo, modern farmhouse styling including sliding barn doors,
rustic touches shiplap, and shaker cabinets. There’s less gold on tapware
and accessories, technology influences continue, colours have warmed,
and tiles have changed focus.
In summary, our bathrooms are individual spaces tailored to our lifestyles
– there are no hard and fast rules to conform to, but there is always
demand for these rooms to be modern, functional, easy to clean, well-lit
and ventilated.
In a post-pandemic world, the desire for these spaces to meet all possible
physical, mental, emotional, and social needs has never been more
important, so here are the trends we expect to see soar.
