DISCLOSURES
The information collected from the interviews and focus groups informed the
development of the data provided, models, and recommendations. The development
of the study has followed a qualitative and flexible approach to accommodate the
time, budget, and other practical constraints. The study offers a snapshot of concrete
promising mechanism that other stakeholders could use as a source of inspiration to
develop their own education and engagement strategies to empower and promote
civil society. They were developed based on written and oral information provided by
the stakeholders who were involved or led those examples, which might account for
misrepresentations or small inaccuracies.
We see this study as a starting point to continue the conversations on the role civil
society plays in the implementation and execution of plastic policies.
ABOUT PLASTIC OCEANS INTERNATIONAL
Plastic Oceans International is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in the
United States with offices in Spain, Mexico, Chile, Canada, and the UK, Our primary
mission is to promote the development of sustainable communities on a global scale,
with the overarching goal of eradicating plastic pollution. To accomplish this
objective, we employ an innovative approach known as modularized film education,
which serves as a powerful tool to bridge knowledge gaps. Through this
