What’s more your speed?
Anchored by Maryland’s first state park, Patapsco Valley State Park
in Elkridge is where bird-watchers, mountain bikers, hikers, and rock
climbers alike will find something to love. Adventurers get their kicks
on kayaks and tubes on the Patapsco River, anglers cast-off and
reel-in along the banks, hikers explore the Cascade Falls Loop Trail
for stunning views, and rustic pavilions house picnickers and group
gatherings. With 16,000 acres of land and 200 miles of trails,
there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Boasting an impressive 232 acres and more than 140 species of birds
and wildlife, the Howard County Conservancy, a nature reserve and
educational facility in Woodstock, is a great place for the whole family
to learn about environmental stewardship and our local ecosystems.
The conservancy is free and open to the public year-round for
exploration and educational events.
Tap into your competitive side at Blandair Regional Park, one of the
county's premier destinations for sports events. In this 300-acre park,
you’ll find synthetic turf fields for soccer, lacrosse, football, and field
hockey, as well as playgrounds and pavilions for endless family fun.
