The School Library Home Language Funding Scheme is open to primary and post-primary schools. 2021 is
the third year of scheme. It gives schools the opportunity to access home language reading materials.
Guidelines are sent to all schools on how to apply for funding to acquire home language materials.
In September 2021, the Primary Sampler Module was rolled out and the School Library Home Language
Funding Scheme adds value to this, providing suitable resources to students.
Main aims

Greater access to home language materials for primary and post-primary students
•
Enhance school libraries with more home language materials
•
Provide suitable resources to primary schools taking part in the Primary Sampler Module
•
Enhanced inclusivity and appreciation among those who speak home languages
•
Promote of literacy, access to reading materials and reading for pleasure
Impact
All main aims of the project were met and the funding reached hundreds of schools all over the country.
