Introduction of lesser-taught languages
Diversication of the range of languages on offer (Action 2.A.6)
Polish and Lithuanian Short Courses (2.B.3, 2.E.9)
PPLI oversaw the introduction of the Polish and Lithuanian short courses, and developed descriptors for the
Short Course in Lithuanian as a Heritage Language in collaboration with Lithuanian experts. Junior Cycle Short
Courses in Polish (2018 is year two) and Lithuanian (2018 is year one) are offered in 8 schools in 4 counties.
CPD sessions were provided, information leaflets for parents and schools were delivered, e-portfolio project in
collaboration with H2 Learning was facilitated, and ongoing support and guidance provided to schools and
teachers.
