ONLINE written support for LC students of Lithuanian, Polish and Portuguese
In September 2019 a new initiative to support students wishing to sit Leaving Certificate examinations in
Lithuanian, Polish and Portuguese (the non-curricular languages that are soon to be curricular) was launched.
This initiative was directed at 5th and 6th year students without access to classes in their schools and aims to
support the students with support for writing skills.
Upon registration via the PPLI website, students were assigned an online tutor employed by PPLI who
corrected and provided feedback on their essays. Students can have up to 8 essays corrected per academic
year. Teachers received training in OneNote as well as CPD on the provision of adequate feedback. PPLI are
collaborating with H2Learning on this initiative which provides the technical support. An evaluation of the
project is planned for the end of the 2019-2020 academic year.
