ARABIC:
19 schools would like to offer Arabic. The comments focus on Arabic as a heritage language, though two schools
have teachers who could, with upskilling, teach Arabic.
• Student demand
• To provide options for students who come from countries where these languages are spoken.
• We have quite a number of students with Arabic so it would be good to offer an additional subject on the
curriculum for them. We have a teacher who has Arabic and with some upskilling may be interested in offering
this language option.
• Economic and political opportunities
• Significant Muslim Population in school
• To increase enrolment in the college and also serve the needs of existing students.
• Need for diversity in the future
• We have many students with a foundation in Arabic.
