Co-curricular
At Priory Academy, we believe in providing our
students with a wide range of co-curricular
opportunities to enhance their learning
experience and personal growth. These
activities not only support their work in the
curriculum but also allow them to develop
essential skills like teamwork and resilience while
having fun and making new friends.
We take pride in offering a wide selection of cocurricular activities. Each year, we organise concerts
and musicals, providing students with opportunities
to showcase their talents before diverse audiences.
In the realm of sports, we offer a diverse range of
choices that reflect our broad sporting curriculum. In
addition to traditional sports such as football, rugby,
and netball, students can explore unique options like
Rock Climbing in GCSE PE and developing their
leadership in Sport Studies. Our dedicated PE staff
play a vital role in promoting healthy lifestyles and
encourage all students to fully participate in physical
activities. The PE Department attend a variety of
competitions and have been very successfully locally
and nationally.
Moreover, we believe in the value of enriching
educational experiences beyond the classroom.
Students have the opportunity to embark on various
trips and visits to theatres, geographical sites, and
places of interest within the UK. Additionally, we offer
international travel opportunities to enhance their
global understanding. For instance, The PE
Department run a Barcelona trip and the Humanities
departments organises a trip to Iceland, visiting
glaciers, waterfalls and learning about volcanic
activity and how it can be used for geo-thermal
energy.
We strongly support artistic expression and musical
development. Students have the opportunity to learn
from a variety of specialist musical teachers inside
and outside of school. Our music department also
display their hard work at the Trust concert and
during various school evening.
Finally, our school offers a diverse range of lunchtime
and after-school clubs catering to a wide range of
interests. From Chess, Art, and Music to Science,
Duke of Edinburgh and Library reading groups, there
is something for everyone. Students have ample
opportunities to explore their passions and pursue
new hobbies.
At Priory Academy, we believe in nurturing the whole
student, fostering their talents, and providing them
with enriching experiences that extend beyond the
classroom. We are committed to offering a vibrant
and inclusive co-curricular program that helps
students develop valuable skills, forge lifelong
