The NZ Board of Professional Skin Therapies
gain international recognition partnering with
the prestigious World Spa Organisation
The World Spa Organization (WSO) is a large
community that connects the players of the Spa &
Beauty market at an international level and offers,
through its associates, training courses to
professionals and operators in the sector, events
and initiatives aimed at personal and professional
growth.
The World Spa Organisation is responsible for
setting the highest professional standards globally,
with an aim to promote higher education,
encourage professional growth and improve the
quality of service in spas, wellness centers and
beauty salons - making them safer places for
operators and consumers.
In 2022 The NZ Board of Professional Skin
Therapies were contacted by WSO with a view to
partnering with the internationally recognised
organisation. This involved going through a
stringent scrutiny and interview process and the
Board are now proud to be the only NZ industry
organisation selected to join.
Says Julie Martin, Chairperson of the Board; "this
is a wonderful opportunity for our members who
will not only have recognition through our national
membership, but will now automatically gain
international membership status and recognition by
the World Spa Organisation.
Martin went on to say that the membership to The
NZ Board of Professional Skin Therapies is open
to all sectors of the skin therapy industry with
various membership categories available. "There
is a strong vetting process to ensure members
have the necessary professional credentials and
have proven their ethical conduct is beyond
reproach. Any person who holds a membership
with us can now say they are professionally
recognised, nationally and internationally, which
will assist the public and safeguard them in
identifying credible operators and trusted
professionals".
