should be regulated.

What would this mean for Qualified Therapists
to come under HPCAA?
For qualified and professionally run businesses
little would change as you would be meeting
the standards set down by the Council. It would
mean that you would have:
more security in your professional
development as appropriate courses would
be recognised as acceptable courses,
Access to more international speakers.
More confidence in employing future staff
as all graduates would be trained to an
equal high standard and fit for purpose.
A continuing educational pathway for higher
education for those who want to gain higher
qualifications e.g. degrees and broaden
their fields of expertise.
General stability and cohesion in our
industry.
What would this mean for Unqualified
Therapists?
An unqualified therapist is an operator who has
no recognised or industry training or
qualifications.
For these therapists there would be a window
of opportunity to up-skill and/or join via a
registration exam to demonstrate their
proficiency in the treatments they are
providing to make them eligible for
registration. After registration, this would also
offer legitimate pathways for higher education
and development.
Fees
A registration fee would be payable on a
yearly basis. This fee would cover the running
costs of the organisation.
