ASSISTANT PROVINCIAL
GRAND MASTER:
GRAHAM RAVEN
As we approach the Easter season
and we reflect on the long passed
festive season it has been a busy and
enjoyable first quarter of this masonic
season. The letters of promotions and
appointments arrived, eventually, and
congratulations to all those that
received
them.
These
are
in
recognition of all the work they have
done for their Lodges and Chapters,
and of course the work they will be
continuing in promoting their Lodges
and Chapter and supporting the
province.
It has been pleasing to see that the
Group 1 lodges have taken on the
example of the flourishing lodges in
the group and are engaging with the
best practice of the members
pathway and have begun to increase
their membership and the success
that the lodge almoners have had in
engaging with members that haven’t
been attending and getting them to
return to meetings.
The year started with a special visit
to see a father initiate his son, and I
had the pleasure of attending Priory
Lodge to see the secretary, John
Hooper Initiate his son Matthew with
his other son Ben acting as Junior
Deacon for the ceremony. A truly
rememberable
ceremony
and
evening. Two visits to present 50year citations, one of the best jobs
of an APGM, congratulations to W.
Bro’s. Peter Croucher and Brian
Bowyer-Brown on achieving that
milestone, and with presenting
Brian’s citation that was the second
one in County Gate lodge in 3
months, celebrating 100 years of
service by two devoted masons
As I we reflect on a successful first
quarter on 2024 I would like to say a big
thanks to the brethren of the group one
lodges for their continued support, the
hard working Lodge secretaries and of
course theVisiting Officers.
Let’s keep enjoying our freemasonry,
engaging with the brethren we haven’t
seen for a while and encouraging more
to join us in enjoyment of our order.
Kind regards
Graham
