ISSUE NO.11 WINTER 2023 | WEST KENT NEWS 16
ASSISTANT PROVINCIAL
GRAND MASTER:
GRAHAM RAVEN
Dear Brethren,
As we approach the festive season
it9s time to reflect on the success of
the first third of this masonic season.
I have had some really exciting
meetings this year, the first of a very
busy
season
was
to
attend
Walsingham Lodge to see a father
initiate his son, Ben Fe of Eltham
Palace Lodge initiating Edward in a
full temple, what a way to start the
season.
Quite a few visits to present 50 year
citations, one of the best jobs of an
APGM, congratulations to W. Bro9s.
Vic Ball, Vic Turner, Graham Horton
and John Homer on achieving that
milestone.
This was the first of many initiations
in Group One Lodges, with quite a
few being external candidates placed
via the membership team and the
members pathway.
As I attend many Christmas meetings I
would like to say a big thanks to the
brethren of the group one lodges for
their continued support, the hard
working Lodge secretaries and of course
by Visiting Officers.
This shows that engaging with the
pathway does give the lodges the
best chance to grow and of course
maintain members.
November always brings that time of
reflection on those who gave all for
our freedom. I was again honored to
represent the Province at the
Dartford remembrance service with
over 20 brethren from the Group One
I have had the chance to see two of
the group lodges, Eglantine and
Lullingstone really benefit from a new
approach, as well as the time served
methods, and a substantial increase
in membership.
Lodges and to again be joined by the
ladies from the Kent Province of the
Order of Women9s Freemasons.
Let9s keep enjoying our freemasonry,
engaging with the brethren we haven9t
seen for a while at this time of year, and
encouraging more to join us in the
mutual enjoyment of our order.
Merry Christmas and a happy and
prosperous new year.
