We have served on the team for three years.
It’s our heart to see people connected to
Riverview. Being Section Hosts enables us to
focus on people and so often, the gift of friendly
conversation really helps the natural reserve
that people have when they come to church, just
melt away.
Serving in this ministry has reinforced our
understanding of the real meaning of discipleship.
Serving in this role has cemented us into the
community more firmly. The challenges of
life are large and complex and having a faith
community around us that acknowledges that
life is better lived together in open honest and
real relationship, grows us and deepens our
understanding of each other and of God.
We’ve grown in our faith because of the
environment around us at Riverview.
We love praying for people so engaging with
regular attenders and visitors gives us the
opportunity to get to know people and to be able
to pray with them.
We also enjoy being hospitable over a meal and
hearing their stories. Being Section Hosts is a
great opportunity to practice the same kind of
hospitality that we love to offer when we have
people come to our home.
Serving has helped us to be a part of the
Riverview community. Serving has helped us to
form relationships we probably wouldn’t have
if we hadn’t been intentional. Knowing other
peoples’ stories definitely makes us realise how
much we all have in common, although we are so
diverse.
Being at church is an ongoing blessing for our
family. We feel like our faith is a work in progress
however we can see an increased desire to know
God deeper and pursue his will and purpose for
our lives.
