JILL SNELL
I’ve been on the Info Desk for about 8 years. I
like to be a welcoming face with a friendly smile
so that it’s easy for people to feel like they can
approach to ask questions, or just to have a chat.
I feel that if you are new or do not know anyone,
a large church can feel a little scary so it is good
to be a person who can make new guests and
visitors feel seen, welcomed, and helped.
Serving helps me to put into action Jesus’ words:
“Do unto others as you would have them do unto
you.” Being in a group of people that I regularly
serve with has allowed me to make some close
friendships.
We help each other with encouragement through
the ups and downs of life and it’s always nice to
walk into church knowing that you will bump into
people you now know and call friends.
HARRY NIJSEN
I’ve been on the Info Desk team for two years.
Making someone feel like they belong is my goal.
This is important if we want everyone to have
the opportunity to find ways to be known in
community.
A gifting on my life is hospitality. Hospitality is
more than catering, which is what comes to mind
for most people.
Hospitality to me is making someone feel
welcome, meeting needs, showing warmth and
kindness.
