FAMILY & EVENTS
In 2023 we have strengthened
our capacity to help Riverview
Families to build strong
connections of friendships.
We’ve focussed on creating
spaces where families can build
connection and community with
other families.
In January, we kicked off the year
with a fun-filled family day at
Outback Splash. The inaugural
Riverview Family Camp took
place across three fun-filled
days at Swan Valley Adventure
Camp in April. At this camp,
thirty families gathered for a
weekend of outdoor adventures,
shared meals, and the highlight
- a bush dance with the Mucky
Ducks Bush Band! We loved that
this environment enabled many
families to meet each other for
the first time.

We’ve introduced more fun ways
to help parents keep Jesus at the
centre of the Christmas season.
The much-loved Gingerbread
House Decorating event was
a very sweet time! We added
a Family Advent Event which
was designed to help parents
build family memories through
Christian practices that, yearon-year, create memories that
strengthen Christian faith.
Throughout the school holidays
this year, there have been
several exciting spaces for the
kids of Riverview to connect
in community, invite school
friends and develop their faith
in a safe environment. In July,
the Superhero Disco was a hit
among kindy to year 2 students,
offering an afternoon of
dancing and dressing up as their
favourite superheroes. The Circus
Challenge event challenged year
3 to 6 students with various
circus-themed activities and a
circus show, encouraging them
to explore new skills and talents.
In September, our annual Kids
Camp for year 4 to 6 students
at Camp Kerem provided a
great opportunity for friendship
building, and faith development
in a fun, wonder-filled, exciting
environment as we explored the
camp theme of “Discovering
Jesus”.
As we look to 2024, we continue
to prayerfully consider how we
can create meaningful spaces
for families and kids at Riverview
to engage with one another and
with God.
