ACTION TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST
WOMEN AND GIRLS, DOMESTIC ABUSE
AND HATE CRIME
STRONGER SUPPORT FOR VICTIMS
AND WITNESSES
Violence against women and girls remains persistently and shamefully high.
Labour’s national mission to Make Britain’s Streets Safe. Violence against women
and girls has no place in our society.
Under my leadership as Police & Crime
Commissioner, there will be a zero tolerance
approach to violence against women and girls.
The everyday sexism, misogyny and violence we see
directed towards women and girls on our streets and
online must end. Everyone should feel safe. For too
many people, particularly women and girls, that is
not the case. And this fear often sadly extends into
their homes.
RORY PALMER
As soon as possible, I will work to deliver Labour’s
national mission commitments including specialist
domestic abuse workers in police control rooms,
responding to 999 calls and supporting victims.
There will be investment for a specialist rape unit in
Leicestershire Police to give every victim access to
specialist support, and ongoing training for specialist
investigators to ensure the delivery of established
best practice.
