Banking
The official currency is the US Dollar ($). Travelers Cheques and US dollars, as
well as major credit cards, are widely accepted. There is one branch bank on Saba
open from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. There are two ATM machine on the island - one is
located in Windwardside at the RBC Bank next to the Post Office, and the other
is located in The Bottom across from the Saba Electric Building and
Robby's Lottery.
Bird Watching
A good pair of binoculars and a guidebook are essential and will aid in enhancing
your birding experience. Bird tours available.
We will also provide you with walking sticks (upon request). For guided hiking
fees, please see page 19.
Please note that these fees do not include transportation to the trail heads.
You can also purchase a Trail map for only $5.00. A bird guide booklet for
$10.00 and a Hikers Guide for $15.00 available at Tropics Café and Juliana’s
Hotel Front Desk.
Guided hikes must be organized in advance, so please feel free to stop by our
front desk for arrangements.
Car Rental
If you would like to rent a vehicle, please notify the Front Desk and we will make
all the necessary arrangements for you. Average cost is about $60.00 per day.
Diving and Snorkeling Equipment
If you decided not to bring along your dive/snorkel equipment, you can be assured
that each dive shop will have everything you need.
Electricity
US Standard, 110 volts. An adapter can be provided if you have equipment that
requires a 220 volt power supply. Note that most laptops and phone chargers can
work at US standard voltage.
Eyewear and Care
Bright sunny days necessitate sunglasses. Lens lubricant for some contact lens
wearers may not be readily available on the island. If you’ve forgotten your eye
lubricant or wetting lotion, please let us know and we’ll try to find out where you
can get some while on the island.
