In India, we’re working to strengthen
coordination of SWE implementers. The
Small Water Enterprise Alliance (chaired
by Safe Water Network India) is a key
policy-engagement organization. In 2019
it focused on:
• amendments to water-quality
regulations
• taxation governing unpackaged
drinking water
• guidelines on groundwater
extraction
Speaking as a unified voice of SWE
implementers, the Alliance helps
strengthen government water policy.
Funder Honeywell Hometown Solutions India Foundation joined in the September 2019 launch of
a new iJal Water Station at a government hospital in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra
Launched in 2018, the
SWE Alliance coordinates
over 18 SWE implementers
working across India.
