HOT STICK & GROUNDING TESTERS
TEST INSTRUMENTS
Battery Powered Hot Stick Tester
• Sticks can be tested at jobsite if no power is present.
• Test hot sticks wet or dry. The tester has a selector switch for wet or dry testing and
a dual range scale which gives the operator leakage current values in micro amps.
• Utilizing a 2,500 volt output, the meter is calibrated to indicate the leakage values
that would be present if 75KVAC were applied to a 12” section of the fiberglass tool
for the wet test and 100KVAC per foot for the dry test.
• Portable and lightweight for ease of use. The tester is designed to protect the
operator while in use.
• The tester comes complete with a padded carrying case and directions for proper
use. A test bar is also provided to ensure the tester is working properly.
• Battery Life - estimate 6 hours of continuous testing at 70 degrees.
• Charge Time - estimate 4 hours.
• Bright Digital Display with easy to read Pass/Fail.

Provide quality testing for personal protective grounding assemblies. Designed
to provide integrity testing of the electrical characteristics of portable protective
grounding assemblies. Provides a reliable test by administering Rated ASTM Current
up to 400 Amps through the grounding assembly and measuring the voltage drop
across the assembly. The voltage drop in conjunction with a thorough visual inspection
determines if the grounding assembly meets ASTM electrical specifications. Housed
in a sturdy carrying case. Each unit is compact, weighs approximately 60 pounds and
quickly confirms the condition of an entire grounding jumper assembly. It is easy to
operate and can be set up for testing in a matter of minutes by qualified lab or field
personnel.
• Powered by conventional 115VAC outlet rated at 20 amps or higher
• Variable transformer allows ASTM continuous current to be applied to cable
• Compact and easy to read reference chart
• Optional voltmeter (suffix VMA) addition allows for troubleshooting clamp and
ferrule connections
• Easily converts for testing elbows, bushings, mechanical jumpers, substation clamps,
truck grounds and cluster grounds
• Optional adapters are available for special applications.
