A Letter From Our CMO
Dear Colleagues:
The past 8 months has indeed taught us to Learn, Grow and
Evolve with constant, unpredictable change. Despite the challenges, it has been amazing to see our veterinary community
adapt in our evolving world. Throughout
changing safety recommendations, we have adjusted to our
new world with client-free or client-limited lobbies, curbside
service for our patients, phones constantly ringing, teammates
calling out sick, teammates stepping up to cover for their
colleagues, and on top of all of this, the caseload increasing
higher than the usual seasonal peaks.
I am incredibly proud to work in a field where we have adjusted
our routines to continue our common goal: to serve our clients
and patients. In line with this goal, I am equally impressed at
how many of us continue our dedication to our practice by
attending this continuing education event. This perseverance
will only help us grow together in the veterinary field. Thank you
to our speakers for sharing their knowledge so that we can all
continue to learn and sharpen our skill set, and to those who
have coordinated the Virtual Symposium to improve the pet care
we provide to our local communities.
Lastly, with the pre-existing stresses we face in veterinary medicine as well as so many changes in the world of late, please
don’t lose sight of yourselves in all this. You have shown this
year that you are resilient, and you are the most important
person to take care of for our veterinary community to thrive.
Take care of yourselves in order to care for our clients and
patients. Thank you for being there for so many others who need
you.
Learning, Growing, and Evolving with you,
Wendi Velando Rankin, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Oncology)
