SAGE Medical Advisory Board
SAGE established a Medical Advisory Board in December 2018 to drive our commitment to medical
excellence for our patients and clients. Its members are SAGE employees - including doctors,
technicians and support staff - leaders in their field who are deeply invested in their area of
expertise and in veterinary medicine as a whole. The Board prioritizes and selects projects based
on criteria that benefit our patients, clients, and staff. Their efforts center around the following
initiatives:
Best Practices and Standards of Care
Raising the benchmark for best practices for operational procedures such as surgery safety
checklists, anesthesia checklists, infection control to further improve our patient outcomes and
minimize complications. We continuously revisit our standards of care to ensure that all SAGE
facilities have repeatable, high standards.
Clinical Trials
Assessing continuing education opportunities for technicians, veterinary assistants, primary
veterinarians, and providing Veterinary students clinical rotations to support their training and
fulfill their veterinary school requirements. SAGE is a leader in continuing education, with our
Small Animal Symposium educating more than 800 industry professionals per year.
