Anthotype printing is one of the slowest and most natural ways of
photo printing. The prints are created just using plant pigment and
sun rays.
The Anthotype collection is a series of photos of flowers and
vegetables collected in my garden. The photos are transferred to
paper with the anthotype technique using plant, sun, and plenty of
time.
THE PROCESS
A color plant emulsion is made from crushed light-sensitive plants, flower petals, or fruits. The color emulsion
is painted on paper and a transparent photo is placed on top. The paper is exposed to direct sunlight until
the image part not covered by the photo is bleached out by the sun rays.
This process takes from hours to weeks depending on the plant pigment and the intensity of sunlight.
