EDUCATOR ACADEMY
The Educator Career Academy is a four component learning experience, which develops
a comprehensive understanding of careers in education and related fields. An Educator
Endorsement on the High School Diploma will be awarded to students who complete the
academy’s requirements.
Sequence of Courses:
10th grade
11th grade
Introduction to Education
Peer academic support

Foundations of Early Childhood Education TC
AP Psychology
Suggested (to be taken anytime 10th – 12th grade):
Sociology
Child Development
Introduction to Human Services
Courses which align with their area of interest
Co-Curricular Connection:
Best Buddies, Link Leader, SERVE, Kids Inc.,
coaching, summer school, etc.
Community Engagement:
Students must complete a number of hours working
in an educator capacity for our community. In addition, students will complete job
shadows and related on-the-job experiences.
Capstone Course:
The Capstone course will include a placement where students
will be able to implement core knowledge from education courses. Students will present
their learning during this experience with the community through an Educator Showcase
event.
