Suzanne Crawford

Diagnostician and Outreach Instructor
After 11 years in Shelton’s Middle School,
Suzanne now works with adult learners
who are passionate about making a
difference in the lives of students with
dyslexia. As an Outreach Instructor, she
is responsible for training and supporting
adult learners in MTA and all curricula
developed by the Center for Dyslexia at
Scottish Rite for Children.
Danyle Duke
CALT-ICALP, LDT, SEE Program Training
Coordinator
Danyle trains teachers in the SEE Program,
expertly guiding them on the pathway to
certification with IMSLEC, ALTA and/or IDA.
She manages records for SEE Teaching,
Therapy and Instructor Levels to ensure
trainees meet certification requirements.
John Hodges
M.A., CALT, QI, Director of the North
Mississippi Literacy Project
John serves as the director of the North
Mississippi Literacy Project (NMLP). Now
in its third year, this program has
successfully conducted workshops and
training sessions on early literacy and
Sequential English Education (SEE). The
121 teachers who have benefitted from
this training have gone on to share their
knowledge with more than 700 students in
Pre-K through second grade. John is also
pursuing his doctoral degree at DBU.
Jessica Newman
CCC-SLP, M.A., CALT, QI, Shelton Scholars
Program Coordinator, SEE & Association
Supervisor
Jessica trains and observes teachers
and provides feedback, helping teachers
individualize their therapy. As the
coordinator of the Scholars program, she
benchmarks students, groups students, hires
and trains tutors and more. Scholars serves
students in our community by providing
low-cost reading tutoring. Jessica started
working as a tutor in the Scholars program
when she was in high school 25 years ago.
Jessica also helps Outreach by training
and delivering short-term workshops in the
community.
Consuela Teague
Outreach Teacher Training Programs
Associate and Diversity & Inclusion
Coordinator
Consuela supports the planning,
implementation and evaluation of Take
Flight and MTA programs. She also
coordinates activities, manages logistics,
and ensures effective communication among
participants. In addition, Consuela handles
billing, processes the Outreach storefront
orders and coordinates website updates.
Finally, two members of Outreach help behind the
scenes. Andrea Reynolds is Joyce’s assistant and
Marisa Villarreal works as Chris’ assistant, helping with
MTA and Take Flight trainings by documenting student
hours, coursework and exams. She also assists with
technology, helps coordinate off-site workshops and
puts together training materials.
