Sigma Kappa is composed of three separate entities, the
Sorority, Foundation and National Housing Corporation
(NHC), all of which do specific work to benefit our members
and move our organization forward.
Sigma Kappa Foundation
For more than 50 years, the Sigma Kappa Foundation has
supported the Sorority by creating and funding leadership,
scholarship and philanthropic initiatives that reflect the
values and spirit of Sigma Kappa Sorority.
The Foundation supports sisters through scholarships,
grants, and personal and professional leadership
opportunities. Sigma Kappa members raise more than $1
million yearly for Alzheimer’s disease research, care, support
and advocacy.
In addition to Alzheimer’s disease research, Sigma Kappa
supports the Maine Seacoast Mission in honor of our
Founders’ home state. The Mission provides support and
services to the people in the isolated communities of
Downeast Maine. Sigma Kappa chapters also participate in
Inherit the Earth, the Sorority’s national service project to
help improve local environments.
National Housing Corporation
Founded more than 20 years ago with a bold vision to
enrich the collegiate experience, the Sigma Kappa National
Housing Corporation (NHC) provides operational support,
financial management services, and financing to local house
corporations and facilities committees in the management
of their properties. The NHC’s efforts are guided by four
key values: fiscal responsibility, diversity of talent, safe and
attractive accommodations, and service.
