TLS staff were able to make individualized choices in professional development allowing
them to acquire skills in the following areas: organizational development, leadership
development and career development/readiness. They were also able to spend
intentional time working towards growth in the following competencies: accountability,
presence, resilience and respect, to name a few. In addition to the individualized
experiences, the TLS team participated in group training focused on areas such as:
trauma-informed survivor support and compassion fatigue and burn-out prevention.
They also participated in monthly learning moments that explored topics such as
effective communication, being a woman in the workplace and restorative justice.
“I grew professionally and personally every day through this
role. I truly think Sigma Kappa’s value of personal growth is
shown through the TLS program so much. Every opportunity
and challenge helped me develop new skills, and don’t think I
could have had that certainty with any other job this year.”
