CLT –TEACHING WORKSHOPS
CENTRE FOR LEARNING AND TEACHING
The Center for Learning and Teaching offers Training and
programs to help all faculty members / teachers excel in their
teaching. CLT events bring faculty members together to gain
insight from colleagues through open discussions of teaching
topics. Many of these are faculty-guided conversations; others
are structured teaching workshops led by CLT staff.
Additionally, CLT members are available to consult individually
on teaching problems, strategies, and professional development
opportunities. Faculty members at all levels of experience and
expertise, who face particular challenges can participate in CLT
programs.
The CLT offers professional development programs and
events to connect SNS Institutions faculty members and
graduate students to effective teaching approaches, resources,
and educational tools and technologies.

The SNS Institutions Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT)
welcomes new faculty. At the starting of each semester, it
provides a Faculty Development Programme for seven days
on new learning and teaching methodology. The Center offers
a wide range of discussions and workshops in which faculty
members can discuss particular teaching issues with
colleagues and CLT team.
Socratic Learning Method is one of the ancient learning
method in modern terms it is commonly known as
inquiry-based learning. In this learning method two
attributes of teaching and learning has been
concentrated namely High Impact Teaching Strategy
(HITS) and Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS). These
HITS & HOTS help students to attain all levels in blooms
taxonomy. Simultaneously, it also helps the teacher to
deliver the content with respect to the various levels of
blooms.It is also known as constructive learning process,
in which it involves four major steps of Eliciting Relevant
Preconception, Clarifying Preconception, Tests once own
hypothesis or proposition, deciding whether to accept the
Proposition. It is of four types such as Confirmation,
Structured, Guided and Open/True.
