SPILL PREVENTION
We understand that every
business has its own
operational methods,
processes and procedures
and the challenges this can
place upon organisations
when adhering to Health and
Safety legislations.
This is why Spillcraft work with businesses
and provide a free site survey. We will
review and assess the spill risks on site, and
provide a report that will detail the risk with
recommendations for a complete spill control
management solution.
Identifying risks, including the way hazardous liquids are stored
and handled, as well as potential risks posed by spills and leaks,
will ensure the correct course of action is adopted.
SPILL PREVENTION INCLUDES:
•
•
•
•
•
Maintenance - is your machinery causing unnecessary
leaks due to wear and tear?
Training - is your team correctly trained to deal with
a spill emergency?
Spill survey - have you identified all potential spill risks and
documented actions for your HSE records?
Storage - are your liquids stored safely? Do you have
bunding in place should a leak occur?
Handling - are you transporting and handling your liquids
safely – is there a better way?
Spills and leaks will always happen, but you can prevent the
likelihood of them occurring by having the correct spill control
in place, which includes:
• Having the necessary secondary spill containment in place
• Having the ability to react and contain a spill effectively
Having a spill response plan will reduce the likelihood of a spill
incident escalating into a spill disaster.
