Induction
All employees receive an induction on joining Liontrust. The Liontrust
Induction programme was revised and updated in July 2020. An
induction brochure is emailed to new staff members before their
start date. This contains all necessary information a new joiner will
need as well as welcome messages from John Ions (CEO) and Ross
Hadden (HR Director). This supports the on-boarding process and
allows the individual to review the information and come prepared
on the first day, with any initial questions. HR provides additional
information if necessary. We arrange role-specific meetings
throughout the business during their first few days as part of new
joiners’ induction and welcome to the company and they will also
be required to complete regulatory training, with modules being
issued dependant on the role.
Investment 20/20 Internship Programme
Liontrust partnered with the Investment Association in 2019 for its
Investment 20/20 Internship programme, which introduces school
leavers and graduates to the asset management industry and
helps them to gain industry knowledge, experience and develop
relationships, enabling them to progress in their careers and
providing them with skills to secure a permanent role. As part of
the Investment 20/20 programme, trainees have opportunities to
meet and network with over 200 trainees across the industry and
participate in social and insight events.

During the pandemic and lockdown of 2020, Liontrust made
the decision not to actively recruit new employees through
Investment20/20 due to working remotely. We will continue to
partner with Investment20/20 from Spring 2021.

My internship at Liontrust in the Governance
& Stewardship team has encouraged me to
step out of my comfort zone and broaden
my horizons when working through different
projects and solutions. From examining
company research prior to AGM votes, to
exploring the works of industry peers to see
where Liontrust can improve, I have attained
a unique and valuable set of skills that will
undoubtedly place me in good stead for
the future. I am very grateful to Liontrust for
providing me with my first exposure to the
industry and for offering me a permanent role.
I look forward to continuing to contribute to the
team and expanding my knowledge here.
