5.4 Ba:ery Func ons:
- The touch screen output of the battery life has a tolerance to the value
displayed. At 15% power, the battery will go into limp mode and acceleration
will be slowed. DO NOT run the battery less than 10% power.
- Charge the ba:ery aLer every use with a 3-prong extension cord that is a three
wire No. 12 AWG minimum. The charger can be left plugged in for as long as
desired but won't initiate a new charge cycle unless unplugged and plugged in
again. Many customers ask if they can use a trickle charger to keep topped off,
but see power save mode below, it makes trickle charging unnecessary.
- Power Save Mode: Most carts even with the key off will burn 1-2% per day just
sitting idle. After 45-60 days the battery may be fully drained. The power saving
mode will ensure that a battery can never run completely dead just sitting. If
your vehicle sits idle, the battery will begin a timer, and after 7 days of inactivity,
it will completely power down. After this time, press the power button on and off
to turn the battery on. There is also a backup power save mode, so if the vehicle
is idle and the battery is less than 20% power, it will only allow 24 hours of
inactivity before it powers itself down. This guarantees that no matter what state
your battery is in, it will still have power when you return.
- If the charger were to malfunction for any reason, the BMS will fully stop
accepting the charge if either the total battery voltage or any single cell reaches
their setpoints.
- Maintenance or troubleshooting of the battery should only be performed by a
qualified technician.
- If the battery is flooded or submerged in water, replace the battery immediately
and do NOT charge the battery or turn on the vehicle. Failure to do so can cause
property damage and cause severe injury or death.
- The lithium battery will not charge in temperatures below 32°F. All carts have a
regenerative braking system and may encounter issues as the battery will not
take a charge from the charger OR the Regen system under this temperature.
- Run times will be reduced in temperatures below 32°F.
- Do not discard a lithium battery as normal waste, the battery should be recycled.
