LIGHTING
The power of light
Lighting has an incredible impact on us. Not only does it a昀昀ect how we see an
environment, it can also in昀氀uence how we function and feel in a space.
But there’s more to it than meets the eye.
The colour, quality, angle and intensity of light all have a profound e昀昀ect on
our perception, mood, health and wellness. So to help you achieve visual clarity,
here’s an overview of what to consider when lighting a space.
Open your eyes to a world
of colour with Pure Colour
With quality lighting, true colours are revealed, textures stand out and 昀椀nishes
have more depth. But achieving natural colours from arti昀椀cial light sources like
LEDs can be compromised, and colour rendering is one way to describe how our
eyes see things compared to a natural light source.
Rated on a scale from 0 – 100 Ra, the Colour Rendering Index (CRI) indicates
how well an arti昀椀cial light reproduces the colour of the objects it illuminates.
The closer the CRI is to 100, the better the light source is at rendering colours
naturally. The lower the CRI, the more unnatural colours can look.
The downlights in our Pure Colour Professional Series (90-94 Ra) and Art Series
(95+ Ra) display hues more accurately than standard LEDs (80 Ra).
Pure Colour is also better at rendering colours across the entire spectrum,
including red, which standard LEDs often do poorly. The result is a superior
range of downlights that reveal the true beauty of your décor.
