declutter your room
Please, please, please do not skip this step. There
is no point in designing around things you do not
like or use. It will just leave you feeling frustrated.
If you do not take the time to declutter, you
will not really get to enjoy the impact of a new
design.
If you do not already have my eBook, The Realistic
Guide to Decluttering: 30 Steps to Reclaim
Your Home and Sanity, you can purchase it
here at a special discount because you have
purchased Designer in a Binder: https://www.
designertrapped.com/decluttering15.
The added bonus of decluttering is that you can
sell old items you no longer use to help pay for
whatever you need to purchase to bring your
new design to life! We do this all the time. It not
only helps us eliminate things we no longer need
or want, but the sale proceeds help us fund the
new project. It’s a win-win!
Use the “My Seed Money Plans” worksheet to list
those items you no longer need and that you can
sell to help pay for your new design!
I recently sold an entire bin of our girls’ baby
clothes at a consignment sale. Not only did it
help us clear a lot of clutter out of our guest room
closet, it earned us $118.00 cash and $51.40 in a
tax deductible donation. That’s $118.00 I can put
toward our new guest room design!
