SCH are highly regarded in the kiwifruit sector and
invest their own capital alongside external investors in
each development. In 2019, Rangatira invested in SCH’s
36-hectare Oaklands development near Waiuku, with the
first crop of Zespri SunGold harvested in May 2022. In 2020,
Rangatira invested in the ‘Eastern Rise’ development, a
114-hectare orchard near Whakatane, and the first crop of
Zespri SunGold was harvested in May 2023.
Both partnerships have shares in Zespri - the growerowned marketer and exporter of New Zealand kiwifruit
that develop and own the intellectual property of kiwifruit
varieties.
