UNDERSTANDING THE BUSINESS
SELECTION OF SUPPLIER AGENCIES
Coming to the table with an open mind, we quickly
learned from Graeme and Roberts that the pillars of a
high-tech distributor are its supplier relationships and
knowledgeable, diligent sales and customer support. To
build on this, we visited suppliers in the United States and
personally met with the staff in Australia and New Zealand.
With this understanding, we saw the same growth
opportunity that Graeme and Robert did – that with best-inclass processes and people, there is scope of both organic
and acquisition-led consolidation.
CONSTRUCTING THE BOARD
We took this understanding and worked with Graeme and
Robert to craft a skills-based board appropriate for the
growing company:
As the company’s growth strategy would have a strong

Rangatira recently placed its director David Gibson on the
board due to his experience with funding of merger and
acquisition and appointed Nick Samara as an independent
director. Nick is based in Australia and has deep industry
understanding.
