KIRA ROSEN
November 18, 2023
5 Kislev 5784
From a young age, Kira has always given her
all. She is unwavering in her drive and
persistence. When she was just three years
old, she was determined to ride a bike. With
her end goal in mind, Kira spent many
afternoons honing that skill. She spent hours
outside until she was adeptly riding on her
own and speeding past her older sister. This
spirit is evident in all that she does - from
lacrosse, to her studies, or even to presenting
a well-prepared argument to convince her
parents.
Kira is also introspective and focused on selfimprovement, which is something we deeply
admire. She constantly reflects about how she
can do better, whether it is a skill, in school, or
in a relationship. With friends, Kira is
completely devoted; she is perceptive and
sensitive to their needs. She will do anything to
entertain her friends and she brings the fun
everywhere she goes. She is always ready to
be silly and spontaneous. You will often find
her with multi-colored make up all over her
face or having a water fight no matter the
weather so long as it brings laughter to those
she loves.
Kira also uses her tenacious but absolute
loving nature with her siblings. She is an
instant playmate and teacher to her brother,
Gabe. Always ready to play soccer in the rain
or create some kind of slime concoction, Kira
knows just how to entertain him. You can be
sure there will be something exploding in the
microwave, but at least she gave him a good
time. She also looks up to her sister, Maya, and
asks her for advice on all things only a sister
could give. From jumping over the waves in
the ocean to just watching an old episode of
Gilmore Girls, they find special moments to
bond.
According to Kira, being a middle child can
have its challenges, but she is perfectly
situated between them.
Kira’s perseverance and introspection is
evident in her Jewish studies as well. She
has always shown an interest in her
spirituality, her heritage and Jewish culture.
Just recently, she mentioned how much she
misses our weekly family Shabbat dinners.
As Kira is learning her Torah portion about
Jacob and Esau, she is realizing just how
much living up to your potential can mean.
This year, in watching her prepare for her Bat
Mitzvah, she has really proved to us that she
is willing to put in the time. We are so proud
of her dedication to this life event.
From childhood to now, Kira has always
been a bright light within our family. She is
vocal, loving, strong, sensitive and smart. We
are deeply proud as we watch her grow into
a young woman and we have faith that she
will continue to use her perseverance and
her introspection for something exceptional.
TBI has always been a warm and inviting
place for our family. The Hebrew school has
helped us, as parents, impart the important
values that Judaism embodies. They say it
takes a village, and the TBI community has
proven that tenfold.
Thank you so much to Rabbi Mishkin for your
support, Josh for developing Kira’s torah
reading skills, Annette Kasle for your
guidance and knowledge of D’var Torah, to
Julie for helping us navigate this process,
and especially to Anya and for your endless
positivity and encouragement in Kira’s
Jewish education.
