I N CLUSIVE
Students soar when they use their innate curiosity,
take risks in learning, collaborate with peers and
teachers, learn to identify the “why” behind their
successes and mistakes and utilize reßective practice.
This

challenging
academic content in rigorous exploration, allowing
each student to make personal connections.
Each day, Field students undertake demanding
intellectual pursuits with their teachers and peers—
from reading and analyzing classical texts to working with the mathematical concept of symmetry
as it relates to music, architecture, biology, or
psychology. Classrooms overflow with dialogue,
inquiry, and critical thinking. As a result, students
engage in meaningful work in their classes.
Field graduates leave with a deep sense of
metacognition, a knowledge of how they learn, and
take that understanding with them—to college and
beyond. Universities know our program and its depth
well. Field graduates go on to succeed in various
academic environments at small liberal arts colleges,
large state universities, niche art schools, and Ivy
League institutions. The world students live in today
and will lead tomorrow is globally interconnected and
changing rapidly. Along with critical thinking and
strong analytical skills, students need exemplary
communication and collaboration skills to successfully
and creatively navigate the challenges and opportunities
they will face throughout their lives.
“As I reßect more, I realize that being a Field
student has meant something much harder to deÞne. It is not just the memories I have made here but the
feeling of being supported in a uniquely creative environment that has made Field a home—where I have been
able to explore my passions and grow. To everyone who works tirelessly to make Field "Field," thank you for
making my time here special. I hope you know your impact on our lives reaches far beyond lessons in STEM or
the humanities."
