I
see that you’ve been a clothing
and jewelry designer for more
than 30 years. What originally
led you to the fashion industry?
My mother is an artist. I grew up
with color, balance, and proportion
being part of dinner table conversation. I also recognized that getting
dressed is a form of self-expression
without words. I loved the idea of
building a career around being able
to express myself.
I believe that style is the representation of who the woman truly is. What
do you think? How does it differ from
fashion?
Personal style and the fashion business are very different. Fashion is an
economic, albeit creative, machine.
Its cyclical and must constantly reinvent itself to stay relevant and profitable. Style comes from within. It
ages like a fine wine and becomes
more consistent over the years.
