At a glance
The furthermost part of Cape Cod, where its tip curls under and folds
into itself as if it’s holding a handful of gems (and it is), happens to be the
liveliest town on the Cape. This is an inclusive town, where everyone is
welcome regardless of how one rolls. P-town, as it’s called, is also the arts
mecca of the Cape. Named by Coastal Living Magazine as one of the top
10 artist colonies in the country (it’s also the country’s oldest continuous
art colony), P-town is a leader in all things art and culture.

The empty spit of sand on which the Pilgrims landed is, in the summer
months, a place that teems with commerce and excitement. Yet quiet
places of relaxation can be found tucked away in every corner, especially
along the coastline, at beaches like Herring Cove and Long Point. The
town’s picturesque biking paths run through dunes, up gentle hills
and along the coastline – it is awe-inspiring scenery. With 21.3 miles
of shoreline and several marinas, yacht and country clubs, P-town is a
sailor’s delight, as well.
