maritime safety testing.
For the boaters and sailors, the private Guilford Yacht Club,
with its beautiful stretch of salt marshes along the bank of
West River, is an ideal place for setting sail as well as hosting
weddings. Sachem’s Head Yacht Club, on the Connecticut shore
of Long Island sound has an active racing fleet and offers sailing,
swimming and tennis.
Golfers will enjoy Guilford Lakes Golf course, voted Best Public
Golf Course on the Shoreline. It’s a challenging “Executive
9-hole course, which has been recognized for its “playability
and impeccable conditions.” For a more relaxed golf experience,
nearby Twin Lakes Golf Club has a newly renovated par 3, no
pressure golf course, which makes for a fun day on the links for
Guilford’s public school system includes four elementary schools,
K-4, and two middle schools, five through six and seven through
eight, as well as one high school. Private schools – such as The
Connecticut Experiential Learning Center and the East Shoreline
Catholic Academy – can be found in nearby Branford and
Madison along with other private schools in the surrounding area.
