Innovating Telecommunications Supply Chain Learning
In the landscape of the telecommunications industry, one of the world's largest telecommunications
companies faced a significant challenge within its Supply Chain organization. Despite substantial
investments and years of effort, the client struggled to find the right balance in learning approaches.
Prescriptive learning paths led to excessive training, while non-prescriptive, self-directed methods
resulted in minimal learning consumption.
Recognizing the need for a more balanced and
practical learning approach, our client sought
to encourage meaningful growth and
development opportunities within the Supply
Chain organization. Previous attempts were
deemed inadequate, resulting in a lack of
engagement and diminished confidence in the
learning program. With a distributed and
mobile workforce, there was a need for
alternative training delivery methods and a
flexible approach to accommodate the evolving
needs of the industry.
Thought Logic’s People & Change team,
supported by our Supply Chain experts,
stepped in to address the immediate learning
gaps and craft a strategic framework for
building learning paths within the Supply
Chain organization. Collaborating closely with
the client's supply chain team, we undertook a
comprehensive approach.
Our Impact:
Capability Definition Workshops: Defined teamspecific capabilities within the supply chain for a
targeted learning and development approach.

Talent Engagement Strategy: Established
Communities of Practices to reenergize
engagement and foster collaboration among
team members.

ensured a seamless transition in each program
step, increasing commitment from the
organization.
This work resulted in a 143% increase in training participation over 12 months and over 8,200 hours
of training. Thought Logic’s intervention not only addressed immediate learning challenges but also
laid the foundation for an adaptable learning culture within the telecommunications company’s Supply
Chain organization. This strategy bridged existing gaps and set the stage for continuous improvement
and innovation within the ever-evolving telecommunications industry.
