Final Tech Report HD - Flipbook - Page 16
Where do you see the current Financial
Services landscape in Ireland and how has
and will it change with technology?
Financial Services organisations in Ireland are very focused on
digital transformation and aware of how it is likely to impact
the sector. One notable change we have seen in response to
this is the emergence of various innovation hubs and
incubators within the incumbents as well as the Central
Banks new innovation hub. We are also seeing new executive
education programmes emerge specifically for the financial
sector to encourage personnel to upskill. But the pace of
technological change is rapid and multiple strategies will be
required to keep up. This is why collaboration is key and the
opportunity to engage with academia in a streamlined
approach is a valuable asset.
What do you see as the top opportunities
for Financial Services businesses operating
in Ireland in the next 1-3 years?
Access to new and disruptive technologies that will enable
them to access new markets underpinned by the collaborative
ecosystem that exists in Ireland. Visitors are continuously
impressed by the way we can come together to share
objectives and seek new ways to co-create and innovate. We
are a small but very well networked country, and that is
something we should continue to leverage. There are
opportunities to learn from organisations that are already
mature in their digital transformation.
This ecosystem also supports upskilling and talent creation.
There are many opportunities for continuous education and
training. Also, the collaborations between industry and
academia nurture a pipeline of skilled graduates aligned to the
needs of enterprise.
