Formal Wedding
A formal dress code is slightly less formal than a black-tie wedding. For women, the outfit choices
remain similar: a floor-length gown, a cocktail dress or even a dressy pantsuit. In fact, there isn't much
of a difference between black-tie and formal, although it's more acceptable to wear bold colours or to
wear a dress that shows the ankles (which is not true of a black-tie dress code).
Cocktail Wedding
Cocktail strikes a balance between sophistication and ease. Consider knee-length, or midi dresses for a
chic yet relaxed approach, merging elegance with comfort for the occasion. A cocktail dress code
offers the opportunity to play around with different fabrics, colours, and prints to showcase your
personal style. For men, a suit colour outside of black with an open collar shirt is popular.
