As an active vocalist/composer/teaching
artist, Sarah Elizabeth Charles has
performed at venues that have included The
White House, The Kennedy Center, the Rose
Theatre with Jazz at Lincoln Center and
numerous domestic and international music
festivals. She has been leading her band
SCOPE for ten years and has released three
critically acclaimed albums under her own
name. In addition to her performances and
recordings, Sarah is an active educator,
working as a teaching artist with Carnegie
Hall’s Musical Connections program, teaching
a course that she designed called Jazz and
Gender at The New School and developing an
early childhood music education program with
Rise2Shine, a non-profit organization based in
Fond Parisien, Haiti.
Dominick Farinacci is a jazz trumpeter,
composer, and big band leader. His career
began as a teenager, receiving the Yamaha
Young Performing Artist Award aged 16 and
performed with Wynton Marsalis on a PBS
Special at Lincoln Center a year later. He
received a scholarship to The Juilliard School as
a member of the inaugural class of its Jazz
Studies Program, graduating in 2005. He has
released 13 albums and performed in over 120
cities in 14 countries globally. In 2014, Marsalis
named him the first Global Ambassador to Jazz
at Lincoln Center, where he works to integrate
music into communities around the world in
culturally collaborative ways. He is a leading
advocate in music education and philanthropy,
and was invited to speak at TEDMED 2014 on
patient-doctor communication through music.
