Creating the
right spaces for:
inclusion and
belonging
Over the last few years we have made enormous progress in
becoming a more inclusive organisation. Through our Equity,
Diversity & Inclusion Strategy 2020-23, we have:
We will be publishing our
new Diversity, Equity,
Inclusion and Belonging
Strategy in 2024 which will
set out more ambitious
plans for:
+ Trained all our employees and trustees on Diversity, Equity,
Inclusion and Belonging, and made it mandatory for all new
starters.
+ Increasing the representation of our
Board.
+ Increased the diversity of our Senior Leadership Team, 2/3 are
female and 1/3 are from a minoritised ethnic background.
+ Formalising involvement of people we
support in our governance.
+ Achieved Disability Confident Leader status.
+ Increase the use of Easyread to make
information more accessible.
+ Trained 30 employees as Mental Health First Aiders.
+ Increased our use of assistive technology and communication
tools.
+ Certified as a Great Place to Work for Wellbeing (ranked #56)
and for Women (ranked #53).
+ Currently the UK’s highest-ranked care provider in the large
employer size category.
+ Led EDI initiatives across Surrey Charities including an
Inclusive Trustees programme and EDI events.

+ To pro-actively raise awareness of hate
crime against people with a disability and
engage in local and national campaigns.
In October we celebrated Black History
Month at an event attended by over 50
staff, people we support and trustees.
Staff prepared food representative of their
cultures, shared stories illustrating their
history and cultural background.
