Working with Early Years Children
When developing an offer for early years
children and their carers it’s important
to map what else is going on that they
could be attending.
Our families were already committed to
activities in the morning and so session
times were moved to after school. This
may mean that you need to consider
a family offer with clearly promoted
resources to also engage primary age
and teenage siblings.
Drama and role play may feel
intimidating if you lack the confidence
and experience of working with this
age group but if you allow children
the opportunity to lead their own
imaginative experiences they will
soon be leading you through a creative
experience. This is even more important
for their development.
